Since 2017, the Lavender Family and LCF Georgia continue to partner on a yearly initiative to support students pursuing interests in sports, music, and arts. The benefits of student participation in extracurricular activities have long been understood; unfortunately, not all students will have access to these activities and will, therefore, not reap the associated social, physical, and mental benefits. Students who have low-income or immigrant families are particularly less likely to participate in extracurricular activities. They attend schools or live in areas where sports, music, and art programs are not well developed or available; and, sometimes even if students do have access to these activities, families may not be able to cover the costs of equipment, materials, or fees. It is the goal of the Dream Big Sport and Art Scholarship to aid families struggling but desiring to enrich the lives of their students. The scholarship is funded by the Lavender Family and administered by LCF Georgia.
