OAXACA, Mexico in Atlanta

Nora Valencia (2)During March, The Westminster Schools opens its doors to the OAXACAN art and culture through workshops and conferences related to traditional HUIPILES and ALEBRIJES  and the delicious Oaxacan cuisine.

Fron March 23-28, Master Jacobo Angeles, internationally renown as one of the lead artisans in Mexico will be offering workshops in the creation of Alebrijes and Juana Reyes and Milagros Jimenez will be sharing their knowledge related to the creation of Huipiles.

Oaxacan cuisine and its history is in the hands of Nora Valencia; who will be cooking traditional dishes at Tacos & Tequilas in Buckhead (March 23-24).IMG_4736

The Catholic Mission in Lilburn will be opening its doors on March 25th to showcase Oaxacan art with an exhibit of Huipiles and music (March 27th)

This is a joint effort thanks to The Westminster Schools, the Mexico Tourism Board, Alma de Mi Tierra Cooking Classes and Danceando Promotions.
