A Leader is one who Loves, GALEO Latino Leaders Summit

On September 30, 2017, GALEO.org (through the GALEO Community Leadership Fund) hosted the 1st Latino Leaders Summit in partnership with OLAS (Organization of Latin American Students) at the Georgia Gwinnett College.

The event aimed to develop and hone leadership skills and to educate, empower, and inspire Latino upcoming leaders from across the state, included workshops, networking sessions, and important panelists and speakers.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Anton Flores-Maisonet, founder of Casa Alterna and co-founder of Alterna Community a Christian community based in La  Grange, GA.  Anton is a leader that shows what solidarity and walking in others’ shoes really looks like.

We are inspired by the teachings of Anton, who notes a true leader is one that loves, and that real transformation begins at the heart.

GALEO staff and event attendees, true to the calling, collected donations for Puerto Rico relief that were then allocated to emergency supplies through MICLIPCI, a local ministry with grassroots connections in the island.

We invite you to watch the video, share and comment your thoughts.
