Latinas in Georgia are the fastest segment in the country growing businesses. Over 87% of our children under 18 are American citizens. Our purchasing power totaled $17.6 billion in 2014.

It is time to invest in ourselves, to grow healthier, educated,economically stable and to garner our collective power. Join us in this journey to a better future.

Delivering on the Dream – Georgia

Delivering on the Dream (DOTD) is a national network of funding collaboratives investing needed resources to protect and defend the rights of immigrants and refugees to help them achieve their dreams for a better life.

There are 18 states with 23 collaboratives implementing immigration relief programs, expanding legal services and support for individuals and families and building capacity in immigrant-led organizations.

Georgia launched its collaborative in 2018 with the support of the following local organizations:

  • Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia) fiscal sponsor & co-coordinator
  • Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta co-coordinator
  • The Sapelo Foundation
  • The Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation
  • The Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta
  • The Mayor’s Office of  Immigrant Affairs
  • Georgia Policy and Budget Institute (GBPI)

The Delivering on the Dream Initiative is organized by Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees (GCIR) with the vision to advance diverse, equitable, and vibrant communities where immigrants and refugees are valued, respected and treated with dignity.

Educational Scholarships

By 2030, one in five people in Georgia will be Hispanic, and Latinx already make up over 27% of the school population in Gwinnett. While there are significant improvements in graduation rates (currently at 64%) it is still the third lowest in the nation. It is estimated that between Asian and Latino residents, approximately 81,000 individuals could become citizens by 2020. We work to engage civically ALL Latino residents and provide assistance to those that qualify for naturalization

Latinas in Georgia are the fastest growing segment opening businesses in the country, yet the large majority are sole proprietors. Funding is a huge barrier to growth and development.
